Overview
The Copyright Office of Tanzania is the Copyright Society of Tanzania (COSOTA), a government body established under the Copyright and Neighbouring Rights Act (Cap 218) responsible for promoting and protecting creators’ interests, maintaining copyright registers, and administering copyright matters in Tanzania, though its role in royalty collection is shifting towards licensed Collective Management Organizations (CMOs).
