Overview
Dar es Salaam City Council (DCC) serves as the overarching municipal authority for Tanzania’s largest city, coordinating planning, infrastructure, and essential services across its five municipalities Kinondoni, Ilala, Temeke, Ubungo, and Kigamboni. Established under the Local Government (Urban Authorities) Act of 1982 and related legislation, it functions as a strategic and regulatory body enabling cohesive development throughout the metropolitan area.
