Overview

Girl Effect is an international non-profit organisation that empowers adolescent girls in Africa and Asia by using media, mobile technology and trusted brands to connect them with information, services and life-changing opportunities. Established by the Nike Foundation (in collaboration with other partners) in 2004 and launching as an independent entity in 2015, Girl Effect works to dismantle the social, cultural and structural barriers that limit girls’ health, education, livelihoods and agency.
