Overview
The Institute of Adult Education (IAE) in Tanzania is a government-established, autonomous institution under the Ministry of Education, Science & Technology, founded via Parliamentary Act No. 12 of 1975. Its roots trace back to 1960 when it began as an extramural studies section of Makerere University and evolved into a department at University College Dar es Salaam in 1963, before becoming independent in 1975.
