Overview
Kilindi District Council serves as the local administrative authority for Kilindi District in Tanga Region, Tanzania. Established in 2002 when Kilindi was carved out of Handeni District, it is headquartered in Songe and oversees an area of approximately 6,444 km² with a population of 398,391 as recorded in the 2022 census.
