Overview
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism (MNRT) in Tanzania is the national government body charged with the sustainable conservation of the country’s natural and cultural resources, and with developing the tourism sector as a key engine of national prosperity.
Operating from its headquarters in Dodoma, the Ministry oversees major areas such as wildlife management, forestry and beekeeping, antiquities and cultural heritage, and the promotion of tourism infrastructure and services.
Its mission is to formulate and enforce policies and regulations, monitor resource use and tourism practices, and foster partnerships across government, communities and private sector to ensure that Tanzania’s rich natural endowment from national parks to cultural sites generates inclusive, long-term benefits.
