Overview
Misungwi District Council, formally known as Halmashauri ya Wilaya ya Misungwi, is the official local government body administering Misungwi District in Mwanza Region. Covering approximately 2,579 km² about 175 km² of which lies in Lake Victoria the council manages both urban and rural zones, serving some 467,867 residents as of the 2022 national census.
