Overview

Mkinga District Council is the statutory local government authority overseeing Mkinga District in Tanga Region, northeastern Tanzania. The district was officially created on 1 July 2006 after being carved out of Muheza District, with its administrative centre established at Parungu Kasera (also referred to as Kasera) to enhance local governance and service delivery in a coastal area with both rural hinterlands and tourism potential.
