Overview
BASATA, or the Baraza la Sanaa la Taifa (National Arts Council), is the official Tanzanian government agency responsible for the promotion, regulation, and development of the country’s arts and cultural sector. Established in 1984, it oversees everything from music and theatre to visual arts and folklore.
