Overview
The Pangani District Council (or Halmashauri ya Wilaya ya Pangani in Swahili) is one of eleven administrative districts in Tanzania’s Tanga Region. Situated along the historic Pangani River and the Indian Ocean, the district covers 1,756 km² and had a population of 75,642 in the 2022 census. Its headquarters are located in the coastal town of Pangani.
