Overview
Sengerema District Council serves as the governing authority for Sengerema District in the Mwanza Region of Tanzania, located approximately 35 km southwest of Mwanza City. Covering a total area of 8,817 km², the district comprises around 3,335 km² of land and 5,482 km² of water, including Lake Victoria and its rivers. Approximately 677 km² of this is forested, mostly via planted woodlands, and elevations range from 900 to 1,300 m above sea level across its varied terrain.
