Overview
Solidaridad Tanzania is a country program and office of the Solidaridad Network, an international civil society organization that works to build socially responsible, ecologically sound, and profitable agricultural and mining supply chains. Operating under the regional East and Central Africa expertise center, the organization partners with smallholder farmers, workers, cooperatives, and small-to-medium enterprises in Tanzania.
It focuses on key local value chains such as coffee, sugarcane, horticulture, tea, gold, and dairy. Through initiatives like the Dairy 2025 project and soil-resilient climate projects like biochar pilots, Solidaridad Tanzania helps farmers transition from subsistence farming to commercial agribusiness while improving productivity, increasing farm incomes, and promoting climate-smart agricultural practices.
