Overview
Tanzania Enlightenment Development Innovations (TEDI) is a Tanzanian non-profit organisation focused on transforming the country’s education system by equipping youth especially from low-income and under-resourced schools with practical, 21st-century skills.
TEDI was formally registered under the Non-Governmental Organisations Act and began operations around 2021 (founded in 2019). Its work centres on bridging the gap between traditional academic curricula and skills that meet current job-market demands and global standards.
The organisation runs several programmes including establishing fully equipped computer labs in low-resource public schools (“One Computer Lab, One School”), ICT teacher training, digital literacy, financial literacy, entrepreneurship and employability skills training, and career-readiness support for youth.
