Overview
The Tanzania Forestry Research Institute (TAFORI) is Tanzania’s national institution, established by law in 1980, mandated to conduct, coordinate, and promote forestry research for sustainable forest management, socio-economic benefits, and environmental conservation, focusing on tree improvement, community forestry, forest products, and beekeeping development. It serves as a knowledge hub, advising the government, training personnel, managing trial plots, and disseminating findings to ensure balanced science-based forest resource utilization for present and future generations.
