Overview
Tanzania Industrial Research & Development Organisation (TIRDO) is a government‑owned, multidisciplinary research and development institution in Tanzania established by Parliament (Act No. 5 of 1979) and operational from 1 April 1979.
It falls under the Ministry of Industry, Trade & Investment and its core mandate is to support the country’s industrial sector by providing technical expertise and applied research services, promoting the use of local materials in industrial processing, evaluating both domestic and foreign technologies for suitability, and offering training, technical services and documentation support to enhance the technological base of Tanzanian industry
