Overview
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (often referred to as the LDS Church or Mormon Church) is a Christian religious organization that believes in the teachings of Jesus Christ and regards the Book of Mormon as scripture alongside the Bible.
In Tanzania, the Church has been growing steadily since its formal recognition by the government in 2003. It is actively involved in both spiritual and humanitarian efforts. Tanzanian members participate in worship services, missionary work, and community service. The Church operates several congregations (called branches or wards) in cities such as Dar es Salaam, Arusha, Mwanza, and others.
