Overview
Ukerewe District Council is the local government authority responsible for administering Ukerewe District, one of the seven districts in the Mwanza Region of Tanzania. The district encompasses Ukerewe Island—the largest island in Lake Victoria as well as Ukara Island and several smaller neighboring islands. The administrative capital of the district is Nansio town.
