Overview
Wanging’ombe District Council administers Wanging’ombe District, one of six districts in Njombe Region, located in Tanzania’s Southern Highlands. Gazetted in March 2012, it was formed from part of the former Njombe District which was previously under Iringa Region. The district covers an area of approximately 3,437 km² and had a population of 191,506 according to the 2022 national census, resulting in a population density of about 56 people per km².
