Zanzibar University (ZU)

Zanzibar University was established in 1998 as one of the first private universities in the Zanzibar archipelago. It serves the educational needs of the islands and mainland Tanzania with programs in business, law, arts, education, and Islamic studies. Its curriculum reflects the cultural and historical heritage of Zanzibar, with particular emphasis on preserving local knowledge while preparing graduates to address contemporary socioeconomic challenges in a globalized world.
