Accountant at Onfon Microfinance

Onfon Microfinance is a dynamic and fast-growing microfinance. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team and contribute to the continued success of our operations.

Job Description:

As an Accountant at Onfon Microfinance, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing reports, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and supporting the overall financial management of the company. This is a great opportunity for an individual with strong analytical skills and a passion for maintaining accurate financial records.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare, examine, and analyze financial statements, reports, and records.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting ledgers and databases.
• Reconcile accounts, including bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, tax laws, and financial regulations.
• Coordinate and assist with audits and tax filings.
• Prepare payroll and ensure timely payment of salaries.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Identify discrepancies or financial errors and resolve them in a timely manner.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support management decision-making.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
• 3 years of accounting experience (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and tax laws.
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Xero).
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• CPA or ACCA will be an added advantage
