Job Description

Location: Dar es Salaam (occasional site visits)
Sector: Catering & Hospitality (multi-site)

Role Summary: Lead finance, accounting, payroll, and administration to support Kankwi’s catering operations. Own budgets, cashflow, inventory/cost control, and statutory compliance (TRA, NSSF, WCF, OSHA).

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow) and dashboards.
  • Drive budgeting/forecasting, cashflow, and banking relationships.
  • Oversee AR/AP, reconciliations, payroll, and internal controls.
  • Lead inventory/COGS tracking: stock counts, variances, wastage.
  • Ensure on-time filings: PAYE, SDL, VAT/WHT, Corporate Tax; NSSF, WCF, OSHA.
  • Manage HR/admin processes (contracts, leave, compliance) and office operations.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Advanced Diploma/Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance;
  • 6–8+ years of experience, 3+ yearsin a managerial role (hospitality/multi-site a plus).
  • Strong IFRS, Tanzanian tax, payroll & inventory costing knowledge.
  • Systems: QuickBooks/Sage/ERP; advanced Excel.

Success Indicators

  • Month-end close in 35working days; clean audits.
  • Food cost %/gross margin on target; minimal stock variance.
  • 100% on-time statutory filings & accurate payroll.
  • 100% on-time (2-5 days window) invoice preparation and submission
