Job Description
The Field Services Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Leader is responsible for ensuring the safety of all personnel involved in Services operations on the project site. This role involves deploying and enforcing safety procedures, conducting training, leading audits, and promoting a strong safety culture across all stakeholders, including subcontractors. The HSE Leader also supports environmental planning, incident investigation, and continuous improvement in safety performance in line with set global standards and the high-risk nature of oil & gas field conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Actions
- Foster a “Safety First” culture through leadership and behavior modeling.
- Educate and train FSRs and subcontractors on occupational health and safety risks.
- Deliver site-based safety training and ensure awareness for all personnel.
- Identify, investigate, and recommend corrective actions for any safety risks.
- Promote reporting culture for near-misses and accidents, follow up on investigations.
- Define and ensure the use of proper PPE and tools across all teams.
- Monitor compliance through safety audits and continuous supervision.
- Drive prequalification and safety alignment of subcontractors.
- Coordinate and deliver emergency response training.
Safety Topic Animation
- Integrate safety into service execution and planning.
- Collect, analyze, and report on safety and health data.
- Ensure proper inspection of vehicles, tools, and work zones.
- Contribute to the health and safety community at the group level.
- Track legal/regulatory requirements and implement updates to procedures.
- Maintain harmonized and current health and safety procedures.
- Produce and maintain reports, dashboards, and bulletins for internal use.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related science.
Years of Experience
- Minimum 5 years in HSE roles within field services, construction, or safety-sensitive environments.
Industry Exposure
- Experience in oil & gas, energy, or large-scale EPC projects preferred.
Technical Tool/Software Proficiency
- Safety management systems
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Risk assessment and audit tracking tools
Technical Skills
- Field safety audits, risk assessment, and incident investigation.
- Development and deployment of site-specific safety procedures.
- Familiarity with international HSE standards (e.g., ISO 45001).
- Knowledge of PPE standards and emergency response protocols.
- Subcontractor safety evaluation and prequalification methods.
- Environmental plan creation in alignment with corporate policies.
