Job Description

Taking care of staff safety, making sure that the equipment is in a good state and are used properly, ensuring that all staff are compliant with all HSE regulations and instructions and implementing good environmental practices to eliminate any environmental hazards

Key Performance Areas:

  • Ensuring that workplace is safe and intervene with any unsafe act or condition.
  • Ensuring adherence to Permit to Work (PTW) system and other safe work practices in the terminal.
  • Carrying out safety inspections of Contractors and sub-contractors’ facilities in place.
  • Ensuring that all site activities are conducted in compliance with HSE Policy and Procedures.
  • Ensuring that all site activities are conducted in compliance with all applicable statutory codes, standards and/or regulations.
  • Ensuring that risks in the work environment are maintained at a level which is as low as reasonably practicable.
  • Conducting and/or participating in Risk Assessment and Hazard Analysis.
  • Conducting Incident Investigations and reports.
  • Organizing and/or providing internal HSE training when needed.
  • Monitoring HAZMAT (Hazardous Materials) on site as per IMDG recommendations.
  • Conducting regular physical inspections of worksite and immediately intervening to stop the unsafe act/condition then reporting all observations.
  • Complying with HSE requirements & safe workplace practices when performing duties with due concern for all other persons.
  • Supporting improvements to eliminate or reduce workplace risks.
  • Ensuring observance of safety rules, regulations and practices by other departments’ staff.
  • Perform other related duties as directed that correspond to the overall function of this position
  • Follow the GSE programs and running projects at the workplace

Qualifications Required:

  • Certified safety professional and fully conversant with safety procedures NEBOSH IGC

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Must possess 4 years of experience in all aspects of safety and environment, and fire prevention related activities
  • Full knowledge of Safety policy and procedures.
  • Full knowledge with MS office application Excel – Word – PowerPoint –outlook)
  • Excellence in English.
  • Strong communication skills include the ability of influencing others Team Leadership.
