What You’ll Do

Role Purpose

The System Administrator: IT Datacentre Specialist is responsible for the efficient management, administration, and optimization of datacentre infrastructure and systems. This role ensures high availability, security, and performance of critical IT environments including private cloud, IoT, and big data platforms.

Key Responsibilities (Summary)

  • Systems Deployment & Automation:

Configure, deploy, and maintain IT systems while leveraging automation and best practices to improve efficiency and support evolving technologies.

  • Systems Maintenance & Monitoring:

Ensure high availability and optimal performance of datacentre infrastructure through continuous monitoring and regular maintenance.

  • Systems Security & Compliance:

Safeguard systems by enforcing security standards, applying updates and patches, and addressing vulnerabilities identified through audits and testing.

  • Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery:

Manage backups and implement disaster recovery strategies to ensure system resilience and rapid restoration of services.

  • End User & Operational Support:

Provide technical support, collaborate with stakeholders and vendors, and conduct root cause analysis to resolve critical system issues.

  • Server Operating Systems (Windows, UNIX, Linux)
  • IT Service Management Processes
  • Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Information Security and Compliance
  • Load Balancers (e.g., F5)
  • Basic knowledge of telecommunications and power systems

Qualifications & Technical Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in IT infrastructure and systems administration
  • Data canter operations
  • Centralized storage solutions (e.g., NetApp)
  • Virtualization platforms (VMware) and cloud technologies (Private/Public Cloud, Containerization, Red Hat OpenShift)
  • Relational databases (MS SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, MariaDB)
  • Operating systems (Windows Server 2016+, Red Hat Linux, UNIX)
  • Hardware platforms (HP, Dell, Oracle Sun)
  • Load balancing technologies (F5)
  • Backup solutions (Commvault, Oracle ZFS, Networker)
  • Basic knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure and power systems
