JOB ROLE

The successful candidate will be responsible for feeding water into boiler drums correctly in order to achieve KPA's for steam production.

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain housekeeping at all times during the shift.
• Frequently check for the required condensate level.
• Check whether storage water is available in CLEAR WATER TANKS.
• Check whether the softener machine is on or off.
• Check and report any deviation in pH, PPM or TDS to the Steam and Power Generation Foreman.
• Take samples to the laboratory for any deviation according to the required parameters.
• Ensure the availability of chemical dosing at all times during the shift.
• Monitor the speed of chemical dosing pumps to control pH and TDS deviations.
• Fill the correct chemicals into the Advantage, Amersite and Caustic Soda tanks.
• Use one storage tank to draw water to the boilers and the other tank to receive condensate at the same time.
• Sample and analyse water in the tank and obtain permission from the Steam and Power Generation Foreman before using a tank to draw water to the boilers.
• Log the concerned tank level every hour.
• Conduct pH, TDS and sugar testing every hour.
• Run and monitor boiler feed water pumps.
• Any bypass form required must be signed by the Raw-House Foreman and Production Team Leader before drawing water to the boilers, after the form has been completed.

MUST-HAVE SKILLS

• Communication skills.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Ordinary Level of secondary education.
• VETA Level II or above in Fitter Mechanics from recognized institutions.
• 2+ years of experience in sugar manufacturing industries.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments.

TERMS OF SERVICE

The successful candidate will be engaged on a Permanent Contract.
