Intern Quality Control Seed Laboratory at East-West Seed

The overall purpose of creating this position, Intern QC- Seed Lab Leader, is to maintain reliable and efficient Seed quality assured to the seed production and Seeds operation. This is to ensure that farmers receive high-quality seeds.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Quality Assurance

• Conduct all required quality tests in accordance with ISTA Rules.
• Direct accountability for the precise and accurate execution and management of total quality related to seed testing, seed production, seed operations (Maintaining inventory, health), packaging materials and seed technology processes.
• To ensure that reliable results were provided for decision-making.
• To ensure that high-quality seeds are released to the market.
• To coordinate with other functions for all quality subjects and testing determinations.
• To maintain and enhance the quality management system of the organisation.
• To communicate and coordinate with counterpart functionaries and/or related functionaries in Seed Technology, Seed Production Technology, Seed Operations Technology and Quality Assurance support functions.

2.Complaint Handling

• Validate and investigate the market complaints with support from the Quality Control Officer
• Assisting Providing Complaint Handling Training to the Market team across East Africa.
• Update and maintain the East Africa Complaint Database.

• Minimum Requirement.

• Minimum Requirements (Education, Experience, Skills)
• BSc in Biotechnology and Laboratory Science, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology or any other related field with a minimum 2 years of working experience as a Quality Assurance professional
• Familiarity with the seed production industry and technical expertise is considered an advantage.
• Be committed to safety, quality & productivity.
• Computer literate.
• Willingness to work independently with minimum supervision
