Job Purpose
The IT Enterprise Architect will be responsible for developing and driving the organization's enterprise architecture and integration strategy to ensure that technology solutions align with business objectives. The role will provide architectural leadership across the technology landscape, promoting scalable, secure, reusable, and efficient solutions that support business growth and digital transformation initiatives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement end-to-end enterprise architecture strategies that support the organization's business goals and technology roadmap.
- Collaborate closely with Business Units, Product teams, Engineering teams, and Operations to ensure technology solutions are aligned with strategic objectives.
- Design and maintain enterprise architecture frameworks, standards, principles, and best practices across the organization.
- Plan, design, and oversee the implementation of technology solutions to ensure they meet business requirements and architectural standards.
- Ensure all technology initiatives comply with enterprise architecture standards, integration protocols, security requirements, and governance frameworks.
- Work closely with the IT Head of Products & Projects and IT Leadership to review and approve solution designs and implementation approaches.
- Define project constraints related to scope, time, cost, and quality while ensuring architecture integrity is maintained throughout project execution.
- Guide internal engineering teams and third-party vendors to ensure consistency in architecture design and implementation practices.
- Develop and oversee enterprise integration strategies, ensuring seamless communication and interoperability between systems and applications.
- Design and promote integration architectures utilizing service-oriented architecture (SOA), microservices, API-led connectivity, and middleware platforms.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions that enhance business capabilities and operational efficiency.
- Ensure enterprise solutions are scalable, resilient, secure, and capable of supporting future business growth.
- Conduct architecture reviews to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for optimization across the technology environment.
- Support digital transformation initiatives by providing technical leadership and architectural direction.
- Prepare and present architecture proposals, recommendations, and roadmaps to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Translate complex technical concepts and architectures into clear, business-focused language suitable for non-technical audiences.
- Monitor compliance with approved architecture standards and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
- Promote continuous improvement within architecture practices, ensuring alignment with industry trends and organizational needs.
- Maintain documentation related to enterprise architecture standards, integration models, and technology blueprints.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management in line with the objectives of the role.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in Enterprise Architecture, Integration Architecture, Cloud Computing, or related disciplines will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Information Technology roles.
- At least three (3) years of experience in Solution Architecture or Enterprise Architecture positions.
- Proven experience in enterprise integration design and implementation.
- Practical experience working with:
- Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)
- Microservices architecture
- API-led connectivity frameworks
- Middleware and Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) platforms
