About the Role

As the Assistant Laundry Manager, you will play a crucial operational role in driving pristine linen standards, garment care, and efficient laundry throughput across Riu Jambo Zanzibar. This is a role for an energetic, detail-oriented leader with strong technical understanding of commercial laundry operations, chemical safety, fabric management, and guest valet services—someone ready to support departmental leadership, inspire teams, elevate guest satisfaction, and uphold world-class resort presentation.

What You’ll Do

Support Laundry Operations: Assist in directing all daily operations across washing, drying, ironing, uniform maintenance, and valet laundry services to ensure all textiles reflect RIU’s commitment to quality and consistency.
Quality and Safety Assurance: Maintain strict standards of sanitation, fabric care, and machinery operation while ensuring full compliance with health, chemical safety, and RIU protocols.
Team Leadership & Supervision: Guide, train, and motivate a multicultural laundry team, nurturing talent and maintaining high morale and productivity in a fast-paced resort environment.

Collaboration: Work closely with Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Front Office, and Maintenance to ensure seamless linen turnarounds and elevate guest satisfaction.

Inventory & Cost Control: Assist in managing departmental expenses, chemical dosing, linen management, water/energy conservation, and stock inventories to achieve optimal profitability without compromising quality.

Guest Experience Excellence: Maintain meticulous standards across guest valet requests and resort linens, transforming every guest detail into a seamless, comforting experience.

What We’re Looking For

Proven Expertise: Solid experience as an Assistant Laundry Manager, Laundry Supervisor, or senior laundry leader within a five-star or luxury all-inclusive resort.

Technical Mastery: In-depth knowledge of commercial laundry machinery, wash formulas, chemical safety, fabric care, and garment stain treatment.

Inspirational Leadership: A hands-on leader with the ability to mentor, develop, and empower teams to reach peak performance.

Keen Eye for Detail: Uncompromising standards for linen cleanliness, aesthetic presentation, and operational organization.

Operational Mastery & Passion: Excellent organizational and communication skills with a natural drive for continuous improvement and commitment to maintaining RIU’s global standards of excellence.
