Location: Plant/Corporate Office, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

JOB SUMMARY

The Internal Auditor will be responsible for conducting audits in various entities of Bakhresa Group to ensure a sound internal control environment.

The role holder will also be responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls as per the directions of the Head of Internal Audit.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understand the internal control framework.
• Apply a risk-based approach to perform:
  • Financial audits
  • Operational audits
  • IT audits
  • Other related audits
• Document results of testing through work papers.
• Interact with people at various levels.
• Apply textbook methodologies to real-world scenarios.
• Work alongside peer auditors as they carry out the audit plan.
• Verify compliance with all relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and document audit findings, issue reports with practical recommendations.
• Participate in the preparation of various:
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Policies
  • Procedures
• Assist in following up on prior audit recommendations.
• Perform other applicable duties as requested for the required knowledge/skills.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in:
  • Finance
  • Accounting
  • Or a related field
• Professional qualification or currently undertaking:
  • CPA (T)
  • ACCA
  • Or equivalent
• 1 to 2 years of experience
