Job Description

DIASPORA BANKING MANAGER / LEAD

Job Purpose The purpose of this role is to lead and manage the Diaspora Banking business end-to-end, by driving acquisition, deposits, cross-selling, and relationship management of diaspora customers. The role is responsible for building and deepening relationships with Tanzanians in the diaspora through active engagement, product awareness, account onboarding, query resolution, and revenue generation across liabilities, assets, insurance, cards, and other retail products, in order to maximize the bank’s market share and profitability in the diaspora segment.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Business Leadership: Own and manage the Diaspora Banking business on an end-to-end basis, serving as the primary focal point for all diaspora-related activities within the bank.
  • Market Expansion: Identify, plan, and actively participate in diaspora meetings, forums, roadshows, and events both locally and internationally to grow the bank’s diaspora footprint.
  • Customer Acquisition: Drive acquisition of new diaspora customers through targeted engagement, referrals, and partnerships.
  • Customer Service: Manage day-to-day diaspora customer queries, ensuring timely resolution and high service standards.
  • Onboarding: Coordinate and oversee diaspora account opening processes, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Portfolio Growth: Drive growth of diaspora deposits and balances through structured follow-ups and relationship management.
  • Cross-Selling: Identify and execute cross-selling opportunities across retail products, including insurance, loans, assets, cards, investments, and digital banking solutions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Operations, Compliance, and Branch teams to ensure diaspora products and services are effectively delivered.
  • Data Management: Develop, maintain, and analyze a diaspora sales and queries management database for performance tracking, reporting, and continuous improvement.
  • Brand Ambassadorship: Act as a product champion by sharing and promoting Exim Bank’s products and solutions to the diaspora market.
  • Referrals: Leverage referrals from existing diaspora customers to expand the portfolio.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular performance, pipeline, and activity reports to management.
  • Target Achievement: Deliver assigned targets on diaspora deposits, fee income, product uptake, and overall portfolio growth.
  • Resource Management: Ensure optimal utilization of resources while driving revenue and profitability from the diaspora segment.
  • Strategic Alignment: Prioritize diaspora engagements, customer follow-ups, and business development initiatives within approved policies and strategy.
  • ** Innovation:** Recommend product enhancements and process improvements based on diaspora market insights.
  • Compliance: Carry out duties in accordance with the bank’s policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Professionalism: Perform all assigned tasks with due diligence and professionalism.
