Job Description
Location: Tanzania
Reporting Line: Security Operations Center Manager
Job Purpose
The Identity Access Management Officer will be responsible for ensuring that employees, contractors, and systems are granted appropriate access to the bank's applications and information resources in accordance with established security standards and the principle of least privilege. The role supports the implementation and maintenance of identity and access management controls, helping to safeguard organizational information assets while enabling secure and efficient business operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage user identities, roles, rights, and permissions across various banking applications and systems throughout the entire identity lifecycle, including onboarding, modifications, transfers, and offboarding.
- Process access requests and ensure that access rights granted to users are aligned with their job responsibilities and approved authorization levels.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reviews of user accounts and access privileges to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare user access listings for various applications and distribute them to branches and departments for periodic access reviews and accreditation exercises.
- Follow up with Branch Managers and Departmental Heads to ensure completion of user access reviews within the required timelines.
- Compile and provide reports on user accreditation activities to the Identity and Access Management Team Lead.
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of Segregation of Duties (SoD) matrices to minimize operational and fraud risks.
- Participate in activities related to Privileged Access Management (PAM), ensuring that elevated access accounts are properly monitored and controlled.
- Enforce identity and access management policies, standards, procedures, and best practices to prevent unauthorized access to systems and applications.
- Investigate and resolve access-related incidents and issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with Information Security, Application Support, Infrastructure, and business units to address identity and access management requirements.
- Engage with the User Rights Management Group (URMG) to identify opportunities for improving IAM processes and controls.
- Participate actively in identity and access management projects, including system implementations, upgrades, and process enhancement initiatives.
- Ensure privileged and non-privileged access controls are maintained and monitored effectively across the organization.
- Maintain accurate documentation of access management activities, procedures, and system configurations.
- Attend project meetings and departmental discussions to provide IAM-related guidance and support.
- Stay updated with emerging trends, threats, and best practices in identity and access management.
- Carry out any other duties assigned by the IAM Team Lead or management from time to time.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Cyber Security, or a related field.
- Professional certifications related to Identity and Access Management or Information Security will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Identity and Access Management, Application Support, Information Security, or a related field.
- Experience working within a service delivery or technical support environment is desirable.
- Familiarity with user provisioning and de-provisioning processes.
- Experience supporting access management activities within financial institutions will be an added advantage.
