Job Description
Position: 1
Reporting To: Head of Credit
Department: Credit
Region: Dar es Salaam
Hours of Work:
- 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday
- 8am to 1pm Saturdays
- Different working hours may apply depending on branch operations
Purpose of Job:
- Lead, oversee, and strengthen the bank’s MIS and governance framework
- Ensure accurate, timely, and insightful management reporting
- Support regulatory compliance and robust internal controls across business units
- Enhance data governance, reporting standards, and decision support systems
- Drive operational efficiency, risk management, and strategic objectives
Principal Accountabilities:
- Lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of Management Information Systems across the bank
- Oversee preparation, validation, and submission of periodic management and regulatory reports including BOT, IFRS, internal committees, board reports, and other required reports
- Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and integrity across all reporting systems and dashboards
- Establish and maintain strong data governance frameworks, policies, and controls
- Provide strategic insights through advanced analytics, dashboards, and performance reports for senior management, board committees, and regulators
- Oversee implementation of governance frameworks and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with Risk, Finance, IT, and Operations teams to align reporting and governance standards
- Lead automation initiatives for MIS reporting to improve efficiency and reduce manual interventions
- Monitor key performance indicators and ensure timely escalation of risks to management
- Oversee audits both internal and external and ensure timely closure of audit findings
- Drive continuous improvement of reporting processes, data quality, and governance controls
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management to MIS and governance staff
- Support strategic decision making through data driven analysis and scenario modeling
- Ensure proper documentation, version control, and audit trails for all reports and governance processes
- Perform any other duties assigned by senior management
Financial Responsibilities:
- Contribute to budgeting and cost control initiatives related to MIS and reporting systems
- Ensure optimal utilization of resources to deliver efficient reporting and governance processes
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Information Systems, or related field
- Master’s degree is an added advantage
- Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, CISA, FRM, or equivalent are an added advantage
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of banking experience with at least 1 to 3 years in MIS reporting, data governance, or risk management
- Strong knowledge of regulatory reporting frameworks and governance practices
- Advanced analytical, data modeling, and problem solving skills
- Proficiency in Excel, SQL, BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau, and MIS systems
- Strong understanding of data governance and control frameworks
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

- Strong team player with cross functional collaboration skills
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast paced environment
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and accountability
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Kiswahili
