Job Description

Manage reconciliation activities for general ledgers by ensuring comprehensive reviews of customer assets/liabilities and treasury are conducted to guarantee accuracy and compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Continuously improve reconciliation processes, minimize discrepancies, and maintain financial integrity through timely and precise reporting.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the reconciliation framework and control environment for product general ledger to ensure it remains robust, thereby upholding financial integrity and enabling precise financial reporting.
  • Conduct a monthly review of the product general ledgers which includes review on customer assets/liabilities and treasury product accounts to ensure no variation on the Trial Balance ledger balances against customer listings (total of subledger balances)
  • Conduct a monthly review of non-accrued interest from loans and overdraft and track the trends to identify anomalies resulting from various loan activities, including customer account upgrades and downgrades.
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of Expected Credit Loss (ECL) impairment provisions recorded in the general ledger against movements reported by the ECL module for both Balance Sheet and Profit or Loss accounts, ensuring complete alignment and zero discrepancies.
  • Perform analytical and trend reviews for deferred income from loans, ensuring that movements in the Profit and Loss account align accurately with the Balance Sheet and are correctly reported.
  • In collaboration with Credit MI, ICT and Business Relationship Manager, ensure all significant reconciliation matters are proactively raised, reported and a clear resolution plan is in place.
  • Conduct monthly reviews of customer deposits/liabilities and accrued interest and monitor unclaimed deposits to ensure that all balances accurately reflect the customer listings.
  • Close monitoring of product general ledger to ensure that the account is restricted for manual posting and report immediately the anomaly noted are resolved timely.
  • Participate in product development initiatives by providing expert advisory on finance reconciliation requirements, ensuring that proper controls and reporting mechanisms are in place before product launch
  • Collaborate with Business Finance & Analytics to perform revenue assurance sanity checks, preventing revenue leakages and safeguarding the Bank's profitability.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or related fields.
  • Accounting Professional Qualifications (CPA or ACCA) is a must.
  • Master's degree in business studies or Postgraduate education in Banking and/or Banking certification(s) is an added advantage
  • At least 4 years' experience in Finance Operations.
  • Experience in Business Finance, Analytics and Regulatory Reporting is an added advantage.
