Manager; Trade Finance (Financial Institutions & Institutional Banking) at NMB Bank Tanzania

Focal point for leading, managing and optimizing working capital strategies, and trade finance solution structuring. Subject matter expert for Trade Finance across the organization.

Main Responsibilities:

• Implement strategies to optimize the bank's working capital solutions including import/export finance, accounts receivables, accounts payable and stock financing.
• Control consistency and accuracy of management reports, and dashboards related to respective portfolio.
• Oversee origination of trade finance deals including letters of credit, guarantees and other instruments supporting international and domestic trade – for Financial Institutions (FI) and Institutional Banking
• Manage Trade Finance assets and monitor utilization across sector FI and Institutional Banking portfolio.
• Support analysis of cash conversion cycles and identify opportunities to improve working capital optimization.
• Collaborate with client finance, procurement and sales teams to enhance payment terms which leverage cash flow impact of business operations.
  
  Risk Management
  
• Support assessment and risk mitigants associated with working capital including credit, currency and counterparty risks.
• Drive decision making by delivering insights to management and board committees.
• Develop & implement policies to reduce exposure to financial risks related to Trade Finance.
• Ensure ongoing monitoring of FI & Institutional Banking portfolios and market dynamics which may adversely impact asset book.
• Coordinate with Treasury team to ensure sufficient liquidity to meet business requirements.

Stakeholder Management

• Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions to secure competitive trade finance solutions.
• Act as main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on matters related to Trade Finance for FI & Institutional Banking portfolios
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment in executing strategies.
• Liaise with auditors, regulators and legal teams to ensure compliance with all applicable rules and guidelines.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong knowledge of trade finance instruments and structured trade finance solutions.
• Proficiency in financial analysis, forecasting and reporting and/or credit risk assessment methodologies.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies in relation to trade finance digitization.
• Knowledge of Global market dynamics impacting international trade.
• International Chamber of Commerce Rules governing Trade Finance instruments, banking and other relevant regulations.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related fields
• Master's degree in business studies is an added advantage
• Relevant Trade Finance certifications will be added advantage
• At least 4 years' experience in the relevant field and with leadership experience in medium to large organizations.
