Job Description
To assist in supporting MHB internal control framework by executing branch control, coordination and quality control of operational activities at both branch and Head Office level, ensuring adherence to bank policies, regulatory standards, and operational procedures. The Officer plays a hands-on operational role in identifying control exceptions, escalating issues for corrective action, and contributing to a compliant and risk-aware culture across the Branches & Central Operations.
Summary Of The Key Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist in reviewing all areas identified in the Branch & HQ Control Check List and report findings to the Assistant Manager / Head of Operations & Service Excellence.
- Conduct daily review of branch general ledger accounts, identify exceptions, and support units/branches in rectifying such exceptions in the G/L.
- Monitor and follow up to ensure all returns to regulators and other authorities originating from the Operations Department are submitted on time.
- Perform daily monitoring of Vault and ATM positions/limits and escalate any deviations immediately.
- Participate in Branch Visits for physical review to ensure branches comply with internal controls and procedures in place.
- Conduct daily review of branch compliance reports and highlight significant issues for management attention.
- Assist in following up and monitoring all reconciliations under the Operations Department.
- Support interactions with the Risk and Compliance department on statutory and regulatory compliance matters directly related to Branch & Head Office Operations.
- Follow up closure of Risk & Compliance and Audit issues related to Branches & Head Office Operations as directed by the Assistant Manager.
- Review the accuracy of onboarding activities at branches to ensure compliance with internal manuals/procedures and report exceptions promptly.
- Maintain proper documentation and records of all control reviews, exceptions identified, and follow-up actions taken.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Assistant Manager / Head of Operations / Management.

A: Required Qualifications
- A 1st university degree in business-related studies
B: Required Experience:
- 0–1 year of experience in a banking operations environment (Branch and/or Head Office).
C: Required knowledge and skills
- Knowledge of banking Operations (branch & centralized)
- General Industry Knowledge
- Risk & Compliance Culture
- Attention to details
- Report writing
- Basic understanding of regulatory requirements in banking
