Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to build the business, deepen customer relationships, and manage key and potential customers through the sale of liabilities products, customer acquisitions, cash management solutions, credit cards, and other retail banking products. The role aims to maximize revenue generation by achieving assigned sales and portfolio growth targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers assigned within the portfolio, serving as their primary point of contact for banking needs.
  • Grow CASA (Current and Savings Accounts), Fixed Deposits, and asset portfolios from existing customers in line with approved targets.
  • Acquire new CASA, Fixed Deposit, and asset customers to achieve the business growth objectives set by the bank.
  • Meet assigned fee income targets through effective management and expansion of the existing customer portfolio.
  • Deliver personalized and professional banking services, including conducting account reviews and advising customers on suitable banking solutions.
  • Identify and pursue cross-selling opportunities by promoting relevant Exim Bank products and services to customers within the portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain an effective sales and customer query management database for performance monitoring, analysis, and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with Branch Managers to anticipate customer needs, identify business opportunities, and provide appropriate financial solutions.
  • Utilize referrals from existing customers to generate new business opportunities and expand the customer base.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all Exim Bank products and services to effectively meet customer needs and enhance service delivery.
  • Prepare and submit regular portfolio performance and position reports to the Branch Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with the bank’s policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and service standards.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional qualifications in banking, finance, or marketing will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant working experience in a similar role within the banking sector.
  • Computer literacy and knowledge of emerging banking technologies and systems.
  • Experience in structured trade finance, syndication, and project financing will be an added advantage.
  • Proven experience in customer relationship management and retail banking sales.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to assess customer needs and recommend suitable banking products and solutions.
  • Strong understanding of retail banking products, including liabilities, customer acquisition, cash management, credit cards, and sales products.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills with a strong customer focus.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management abilities.
  • Self-confidence, ambition, and willingness to take on challenges.
  • High energy levels and a results-oriented mindset.
  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to learn quickly and work independently under pressure.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of efficiency and professionalism.
