Job Description
DCB Commercial Bank Plc is a full-fledged retail and commercial bank in Tanzania. The bank provides banking services to a diverse clientele, including individuals, Microfinance, Small to Medium-sized Businesses (MSME), and large corporate clients. With a wide network of over 8 branches, more than 700 DCB Wakala Agents, and over 280 Umoja switch ATMs, the bank serves more than 3 million customers across the country.
DCB Bank is currently looking for a qualified candidate to fill the role of Relationship Manager, Trade Finance. The chosen candidate will be responsible for growing and managing the trade finance business portfolio to meet targets for portfolio growth, income, and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Regularly identifying, measuring, monitoring, and controlling the overall risks within the Trade Finance business.
- Ensuring the allocated portfolio is closely monitored and that recommended actions are diligently executed.
- Coordinating and leading the sales of trade finance products across all branches.
- Identifying and pursuing opportunities in major government projects to acquire leads for various trade finance solutions for contractors and suppliers.
- Developing and managing relationships with potential projects and customers to acquire new business from the market.
- Managing relationships with existing customers to maintain the current portfolio and achieve trade finance portfolio growth.
- Preparing comprehensive internal and external reports on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Producing Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Work plans, as well as performance and status reports for effective decision-making and performance monitoring.
- Ensuring adherence to the target market selection criterion and that the bank is in full compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements to minimize risks and exposures to the bank.
- Maintaining a reporting schedule of defined Key Risk Indicators and measuring performance against them monthly to reduce possible losses from omissions and mistakes.
- Supporting the development and implementation of process Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for Trade Finance.
- Ensuring adherence to statutory and bank legal requirements related to Trade Finance front office operations.
- Ensuring an effective call program is maintained for all allocated relationships and prospects, with calls being recorded and filed.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in trade operations, including guarantees and Import and Export letters of credit.
- In-depth knowledge of the local banking industry, including banking products, services, and regulations.
- Understanding of guarantees and Letters of Credit (LCs) concepts.
- Excellent selling, negotiation, presentation, and networking skills.
