Job Purpose

Leads CRDB’s Enterprise Business Capability & Innovation function, acting as the bridge between strategic ambition and operational delivery. The mandate is to ensure the bank is not just building the system right but building the right system embedding capabilities that drive business outcomes, customer value, and sustainable growth. Serves as a strategic advisor to the C-suite, translating market insights and enterprise architecture into actionable innovation programs, to ensure that new capabilities are designed, tested, and integrated into CRDB’s workflows, while maintaining a strong focus on customer-centricity, and ROI.

Principle Responsibilities

• Lead Enterprise Capability Mapping to define what CRDB must be able to do to compete and grow.
• Drive Innovation Programs (R&D, Pilots, Partnerships) that deliver measurable business outcomes.
• Partner with Process & Journey Mapping teams to overlay capabilities onto customer and staff journeys.
• Collaborate with Workflow Integration teams to embed new capabilities into systems and processes.
• Work with Change Management teams to ensure adoption and organizational readiness of innovative solutions.
• Align with Market Intelligence and Product Design teams to ensure innovations address customer needs and market opportunities.
• Act as a strategic advisor to EXCO and the Board by providing insights on capability gaps, innovation ROI, and growth opportunities.
• Develop and maintain an enterprise capability roadmap aligned with the Bank's strategic objectives and transformation agenda.
• Identify, assess, and prioritize capability gaps, recommending initiatives that enhance business performance and competitive advantage.
• Establish and oversee governance frameworks for innovation initiatives, ensuring effective prioritization, investment, and value realization.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and disruptive business models to identify opportunities for innovation and growth.
• Build and manage strategic partnerships with fintechs, technology providers, academic institutions, and innovation ecosystems to accelerate capability development.
• Define, monitor, and report on capability maturity, innovation performance, and business impact metrics to support data-driven decision-making.
• Champion a culture of innovation, experimentation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing across the organization.
• Lead initiatives that improve Customer engagement, satisfaction, retention, and access to innovative financial solutions, contributing to sustainable business growth.

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Strategy, Finance, Business Innovation, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in financial services, including exposure to R&D, innovation strategy, and business transformation programs.
• Strong understanding of commercial models, operating capabilities & frameworks, and strategic market shifts.
• Applies innovation operating model design, design thinking, problem framing, and R&D experimentation methodologies to identify opportunities, develop solutions, and drive innovation outcomes.
• Demonstrates the ability to effectively influence executive stakeholders, lead through collaboration in a matrix environment, and build strong relationships to manage diverse stakeholder interests and drive organizational objectives.
• Proven record of driving cross-functional initiatives from insight to implementation.
• Demonstrated ability to build institutional capabilities and adoption systems.
• Strategic Capability Mapping and Program Orchestration.
• Partnership Co-Creation & Ecosystem Management.
• Data Literacy & Insight Translation.
