Country General Manager at Lemala Camps & Lodges

Reports To: Head of Operations

Lemala Camps & Lodges is seeking an experienced and dynamic Country General Manager Tanzania to lead its Tanzania operations. Reporting to the Head of Operations, the successful candidate will oversee the company's luxury camps and lodges, Destination Management Company (DMC), logistics, fleet, procurement, and support services, ensuring operational excellence, exceptional guest experiences, and strong business performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute operational strategy across the Tanzania business.
• Drive excellence in guest experience, service standards, and operational efficiency.
• Oversee multi-site operations, budgets, infrastructure, and resource management.
• Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and local regulations.
• Strengthen relationships with government authorities, communities, and key stakeholders.
• Champion sustainability, conservation, and responsible tourism initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality, Tourism, or a related field (MBA is advantageous).
• Minimum ten (10) years' leadership experience in hospitality or tourism.
• At least eight (8) years managing multi-site operations.
• Extensive experience in the luxury safari/lodge sector.
• Strong operational, financial, and people leadership skills.
• Experience with an inbound DMC or integrated tourism business is an advantage.
• East Africa experience is highly desirable.
