CAREER OPPORTUNITY: Quality assurance officer (2)

TOL Gases PLC, listed on the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE), is Tanzania’s leading manufacturer and distributor of high-quality industrial and medical gases. Committed to the highest safety and regulatory standards, our operations are ISO-certified. We are looking for a meticulous and driven Quality Assurance (QA) Officer to join our team in Dar es Salaam and Mbeya to uphold our strict quality, hygiene, and product safety standards.
2.0 PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Ensuring a product or service meets the established standards of quality including reliability, usability and performance required for distribution and the market. Preventing errors in manufacturing or production that lead to product defects. Testing products extensively before their release.
3.0 KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Quality Management System (QMS): Implement, maintain and monitor quality control processes to align with ISO 22000,9001:2025,14001:2015,45001:2018 and HACCP standards.
- Testing & Analysis: Conduct routine, regular inspections and audits of production processes and laboratory tests on raw materials and finished medical and industrial gases to ensure compliance with quality standards on product purity using advanced gases analysers.
- Inspection: Monitor production, filling, and packaging operations to prevent contamination and defects.
- Compliance: Document internal audits, draft QA policies, and ensure strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and OSHA standards.
- Reporting: Prepare clear laboratory and inspection reports, and present findings Operations to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate: with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Training: Train staff in quality control procedures and best practices
5.0 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Chemical and Processing Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, or a closely related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of hands-on quality assurance or quality control experience within an industrial manufacturing or laboratory environment.
- Certifications: Additional certifications as a Quality Auditor or Quality Engineer (e.g., ISO Lead Auditor) are highly advantageous.
- Skills: Strong analytical capabilities, high attention to detail, and excellent written/verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with gas manufacturing, ISO certification processes, and HACCP food hygiene/safety practices is critical.
