Job Summary
The Sales Manager is responsible for driving business growth across designated regions by leading and developing a high-performing sales team. The role ensures effective execution of sales strategies, achievement of revenue targets, and strong stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will bridge strategic planning with field operations to strengthen the organization's market presence and maintain its position as a preferred financial partner within the boda-boda sector.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership and Team Management
- Lead and manage the overall sales function to achieve established sales objectives and performance targets.
- Supervise Sales Supervisors directly while providing oversight and support to Sales Officers operating across assigned regions.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and monitor the productivity of sales teams.
- Mentor, coach, and develop team members through monthly one-on-one sessions, mid-year reviews, and annual performance appraisals.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the sales team.
- Coordinate with the Human Resources department to identify training needs and facilitate capacity-building initiatives.
- Allocate resources effectively to ensure branches and teams achieve their key performance indicators.
Sales Strategy and Business Development
- Develop and implement sales strategies designed to drive sustainable business growth and market expansion.
- Identify new business opportunities, markets, customers, and partnerships to increase revenue and market share.
- Conduct market research and gather competitive intelligence to support strategic decision-making.
- Monitor market trends and customer needs to adapt sales approaches accordingly.
- Support the execution of initiatives aimed at improving sales performance across all branches.
Stakeholder and Partnership Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with boda-boda suppliers, dealers, stage leaders, and other key stakeholders.
- Engage external partners to support business expansion and sales growth initiatives.
- Strengthen collaboration between regional branches and community leadership structures to enhance market penetration.
- Represent the organization at stakeholder meetings, community engagements, and partnership discussions.
Sales, Marketing, and Brand Support
- Work closely with marketing, communications, retail, and other internal departments to align sales activities with organizational objectives.
- Support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of promotional campaigns, events, and sales initiatives.
- Participate in roadshows, community outreach programs, and customer engagement activities organized by the organization and its partners.
- Ensure that all sales and promotional activities are conducted in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Customer Relationship Management
- Educate customers and stakeholders about the organization's products, services, processes, and policies.
- Oversee the collection and management of customer feedback to enhance service delivery.
- Address customer concerns and escalated issues promptly and effectively.
- Monitor complaint resolution processes to ensure adherence to established timelines and service standards.
Reporting and Administration
- Prepare and submit periodic sales reports and performance updates to senior management.
- Track key performance indicators and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
- Maintain accurate records related to sales activities, stakeholder engagements, and team performance.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management in support of organizational objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of experience in sales, preferably within the financial services, telecommunications, or fast-moving consumer goods sectors.
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing large sales teams.
- Proven ability to drive business growth and consistently achieve sales targets.
Knowledge and Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of sales management principles and customer relationship management practices.
- Experience in adapting products and services to meet local market needs.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace applications and other relevant business software tools.
- Good knowledge of retail operations, marketing, customer service, logistics, and supply chain processes.
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently and work across different locations as required.
