Trading Operator at Mount Meru Group Tanzania

Mount Meru Group is an African-based conglomerate with operations across multiple industries, including petroleum, manufacturing of edible oils, LPG, lubricants, infrastructure development (real estate), and logistics. The company operates in several African countries, including Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Uganda, Rwanda, Ivory Coast, Botswana, Mozambique, Kenya, Zimbabwe, and Congo. The group is headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and has a significant presence in the downstream petroleum business and related industries. Our operations also involve various manufacturing and logistical solutions to support regional development and trade.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Trading Operator to support the execution and post-trade activities of our trading desk. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring smooth trade flow, accurate settlement, and compliance with internal and external regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and monitor trade execution, ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions.
• Manage vessel loading/discharge, stock positions, inland trucking flows.
• Ensure timely communication with suppliers, customers and services providers.
• Monitor trade life cycle events and support operational requirements throughout pre-trade, trade, and post-trade processes.
• Ensure timely and correct booking of trades in internal systems.
• Prepare and maintain documentation related to trades, contracts, and settlements.
• Manage trade confirmations, reconciliations, and reporting obligations.
• Maintain close communication with trading team, risk management, compliance, finance, and logistics teams.
• Ensure adherence to all internal policies and external regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in a trade support or operation role within a trading environment (commodities, financial markets, etc.).
• Familiarity with trading platforms and tools (CTRM/ETRM)
• Strong knowledge of trade life cycle and operational risk principles.
• Excellent Excel and data management skills.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
