Chef Opportunity at Joud by the Sea Zanzibar
With Joud by the Sea Zanzibar, a new resort redefining hospitality in the island of Zanzibar, preparing to open its doors soon, we are seeking a Sous Chef / Senior Chef de Partie. This role is about creating a culinary wow-factor: blending international techniques with Zanzibar’s rich local flavors to craft signature dishes that inspire excitement, word-of-mouth, and social buzz. We’re looking for a rising star ready to leave their mark on Zanzibar’s culinary scene.
Position: Sous Chef / Senior Chef de Partie
Qualification: Pedigree training or experience under a renowned or Michelin-starred chef
Responsibilities:
- Support the Executive Chef in overseeing all kitchen, restaurant, and food service operations
- Lead, train, and inspire kitchen staff to maintain excellence
- Develop innovative menus showcasing both global and local flavors
- Ensure top-tier food quality, safety, and hygiene standards
- Manage costs, budgets, and supplier coordination
- Deliver a dining experience that delights guests and supports the resort’s brand story
