Encore Medics Limited is looking for an experienced Analytical Chemist to join our team as a Sales & Application Specialist for Analytical Laboratory Equipment.
We are specifically looking for a Chemist with hands-on experience using analytical laboratory instruments who can combine strong technical knowledge with sales, product demonstrations, customer training and application support.
This is not a general Sales & Marketing position.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and sell analytical laboratory instruments, accessories, consumables and related solutions.
- Identify new customers and business opportunities across government, research, industrial, environmental, pharmaceutical, mining, food and other testing laboratories.
- Conduct customer visits, technical presentations and product demonstrations.
- Understand customer analytical requirements and recommend appropriate instrument configurations and solutions.
- Prepare quotations, technical proposals and tender submissions.
- Achieve assigned sales targets and manage opportunities from lead generation through order closure.
- Conduct instrument demonstrations, method/application support and customer training.
- Support installation, commissioning and customer acceptance together with service engineers and manufacturer specialists.
- Provide post-installation application support and follow up with customers.
- Develop strong relationships with laboratory managers, chemists, researchers and other key decision-makers.
- Work closely with manufacturers and principals on technical configurations, applications and customer requirements.
Mandatory Qualifications & Experience
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or equivalent relevant scientific field.
- Minimum 1 year of practical experience working with analytical laboratory instruments.
- Hands-on experience with one or more major analytical techniques/instruments such as:
- HPLC / UHPLC
- GC / GC-MS
- ICP-OES / ICP-MS
- UV-Vis Spectrophotometry
- FTIR Spectroscopy
- AAS
- Good understanding of analytical methods, sample preparation, calibration, standards and quality control.
- Ability to understand customer applications and recommend suitable analytical solutions.
- Strong communication, presentation and customer engagement skills.
- Strong interest and ability in technical sales and business development.
- Fluent in English and Swahili.
- Willing to travel extensively within Tanzania.
Added Advantage
- Previous experience selling or supporting analytical laboratory instruments.
- Previous experience as an Application Specialist, Product Specialist or Technical Sales Specialist.
- Practical experience with chromatography, spectroscopy or mass spectrometry.
- Experience working in government, pharmaceutical, food, environmental, mining, research or industrial laboratories.
- Experience preparing technical specifications and tenders for analytical equipment.
Important
This position requires a scientific and technical background.
We are looking for an Analytical Chemist with practical instrument experience who can sell technical solutions, conduct demonstrations, train customers and provide application support.
Applicants with only Sales, Marketing or Business Administration qualifications and no relevant scientific/instrumentation background should not apply.
