Job Description

AGECO is a locally-owned engineering firm registered by the Contractors Registration Board of Tanzania (CRB) as a:

  • Civil Contractor
  • Building Contractor
  • Electrical Contractor
  • Solar Energy Contractor

AGECO is looking for experienced, dedicated and hard-working individuals to fill the Site Engineer position.

The ideal candidate for this position should have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution and at least 2 years of work experience.

A Registered Professional Engineer qualification will be an added advantage, although it is not a mandatory requirement.

JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Planning, designing, and constructing buildings and civil works for various applications.
  • Using computer software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D to prepare precise drawings and blueprints.
  • Calculating structural loads for:
    • Buildings
    • Roads
    • Bridges
    • Water systems
    • Other civil engineering structures
  • Supervising construction projects to ensure that the work implemented matches the approved design plans.
  • Ensuring that construction works meet applicable safety codes.
  • Ensuring that proper construction materials are used.
  • Tracking project budgets.
  • Setting project schedules.
  • Leading project teams.
  • Ensuring projects are completed in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer is an added advantage but is not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with engineering software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Ability to supervise construction works and ensure compliance with design plans, safety requirements, and material specifications.
  • Ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and teams.
