Job Description

Perseus Mining (Tanzania) Limited is seeking a Coordinator Electrical Maintenance.
The Coordinator Electrical Maintenance is responsible to step up as required to cover for the Superintendent Electrical Maintenance by leading the safe, efficient and reliable operation of the Process Plant Electrical and Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) Maintenance team to maximise plant and infrastructure availability across the operation.
The role is to participate in the planning, execution and continuous improvement of preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance activities, ensuring all Process Plant Electrical and NPI assets are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements, company standards and industry best practice.
Key Responsibilities
Safety, Environment & Community
- Demonstrate visible safety leadership and promote a proactive safety culture across the Process Plant Electrical and NPI maintenance team.
- Ensure all Process Plant Electrical and NPI Team maintenance activities comply with company policies, statutory legislation and electrical safety standards.
- Step up to lead investigations into all Electrical and NPI incidents and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with permit-to-work, isolation and lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures.
- Maintain compliance with environmental requirements by minimising waste, preventing pollution and ensuring responsible handling of hazardous materials.
- Promote respectful engagement with local communities and ensure maintenance activities are undertaken in accordance with company community standards.
Electrical Maintenance Management
- Step up as required to lead the execution of preventative, predictive and corrective Process Plant Electrical and NPI maintenance strategies to maximise equipment reliability and plant availability.
- Participate in developing and optimising maintenance plans for fixed plant electrical systems, NPI, power generation, distribution networks, substations, motors, variable speed drives, protection systems and associated infrastructure.
- Ensure maintenance work is planned, prioritised and executed efficiently to minimise equipment downtime.
- Monitor equipment performance, analyse reliability data and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve asset performance.
- Step up as required to manage Process Plant Electrical and NPI shutdown planning and execution in collaboration with operations and maintenance planning teams.
- Ensure critical Process Plant Electrical and NPI spares are identified and inventory levels maintained to support operational reliability.
- Coordinate specialist contractors and vendors to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to required standards.
- Ensure statutory inspections, testing and compliance activities are completed within required timeframes.
- Support capital improvement and sustaining capital projects relating to electrical and NPI infrastructure.
- Participate in budgeting, forecasting and cost control activities for the electrical and NPI maintenance department.
- Prepare and present maintenance performance reports, KPIs and reliability metrics to management.
People Management
- Step up, lead, mentor and develop the Process Plant Electrical and NPI maintenance team to achieve departmental and organisational objectives.
- Build local workforce capability through coaching, training and succession planning.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback to support employee development.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Ensure workforce competency requirements are maintained and appropriate training is completed.
- Foster strong working relationships across operations, maintenance, engineering and support functions.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities and Attributes
Essential
- Minimum 10 years' Process Plant Electrical and NPI maintenance experience within mining, mineral processing or heavy industry, with a minimum 5 years' experience in a leadership or supervisory position.
- Strong knowledge of Process Plant Electrical and NPI maintenance practices within a mining or heavy industrial environment.
- Sound understanding of high voltage and low voltage electrical systems, power distribution, motor control, protection systems and electrical compliance requirements.
- Strong understanding of preventative, predictive and reliability-centred maintenance principles.
- Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Demonstrated leadership capability with the ability to motivate, mentor and develop diverse teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multicultural environment and build collaborative relationships across all levels of the organisation.

- Experience within a gold processing operation.
- Knowledge of instrumentation and process control systems.
- Experience implementing reliability improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Licences
- Trade Qualification as an Electrician is essential.
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline is desired.
- Current A Grade Electrical Licence or internationally recognised equivalent acceptable within the jurisdiction.
- High Voltage Switching Authorisation.
Additional Information
- Prepared to undertake external training to complement the operation.
- Incumbent may be expected to work outside normal working hours on occasions.
- Incumbent will from time to time be required to travel on company business.
