Job Description

Hello Zanzibar

We’re Attitude, and we’re coming soon. In 2025, we’re opening our very first hotel outside Mauritius, right here in Matemwe: an adults-only hotel with 74 villas, two restaurants and two bars. It’s a new chapter for us, and we’re putting a lot of heart into making it something special.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational/Technical Responsibilities:​​

Event Planning and Coordination:

  • Coordinate food and beverage services for events, meetings, and special occasions.​
  • Liaise with clients, chefs, and event planners to determine menu selections and service requirements.​

Vendor and Supplier Management:

  • Source and maintain relationships with food and beverage suppliers.​
  • Ensure timely delivery of products and negotiate contracts and pricing.​

Inventory and Ordering:

  • Monitor inventory levels of food, beverages, and supplies.​
  • Place orders to maintain stock levels while minimizing waste.​

Quality and Compliance:

  • Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are maintained in line with health regulations.​
  • Monitor quality of food and beverage products and service delivery.​

Budgeting and Cost Control:

  • Assist in managing budgets and controlling food and beverage costs.​
  • Track expenses and support financial reporting for the department.​

Customer Service:

  • Address guest inquiries and resolve any issues related to food and beverage service.​
  • Gather feedback to improve offerings and service quality.​

YOUR QUALITIES: ​​

  • Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality Management​
  • A certificate in event planning would be an advantage​
  • Minimum of 3 years proven experience as F&B Coordinator.​
  • Ability to embody and instil Attitude’s DNA and culture within the hotel.​
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards​
  • Basic budgeting and cost control understanding​
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an enthusiastic and outgoing personality.​
  • Excellent communication skills: Clear, professional verbal and written skills and fluency in English and Swahili. A third language would be a definite advantage.​
  • An understanding of the African Market will be a definite advantage.​
  • Ability to compete in a fast-paced, dynamic and guest centric environment​​​
  • Outstanding customer service skills in handling customer queries and resolving issues.
