Position Overview
At Jaza, we're building energy solutions that empower communities and the Procurement & Logistics Coordinator plays a critical role in making that happen.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing procurement activities and coordinating the movement of goods across our supply chain. From sourcing reliable suppliers and issuing purchase orders, to tracking shipments and navigating customs processes, your work will directly support our growing network of solar-powered hubs across Tanzania.
This is a hands-on, cross-functional role that requires strong organization, attention to detail and the ability to solve logistical challenges in a dynamic, fast-moving environment. Roles And Responsibilities
Procurement Support
- Assist in sourcing, evaluating, and selecting suppliers for equipment, materials, and services.
- Prepare purchase orders and ensure timely processing and tracking.
- Maintain supplier relationships and evaluate supplier performance.
- Support negotiation of procurement terms and conditions.
- Processes supplier’s invoices for payment, matching POs against invoices and Goods receipt notes.
Logistics Coordination
- Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, including shipping, customs clearance, and transportation.
- Track shipments, manage delivery schedules, and resolve logistical issues.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping agents, and suppliers to ensure smooth logistics flow.
- Optimize warehouse and inventory management practices.
Supply Chain Support
- Collaborate with project teams to forecast procurement needs and ensure alignment with project timelines.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, shipments, and inventory.
- Assist in risk management and contingency planning related to procurement and logistics.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Prepare and manage documentation for customs, import/export, and procurement audits.
- Prepare periodic (weekly, monthly, quarterly etc.) management and ad hoc reports.

Qualifications
Experience & Competencies
- Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field is required; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in procurement and/or logistics coordination, ideally within a fast-paced or growth-oriented environment.
- Solid understanding of end-to-end procurement processes, including vendor selection, purchase order management, and invoice processing.
- Hands-on experience coordinating shipments, tracking deliveries, managing customs clearance, and working with freight forwarders.
- Comfortable using procurement or logistics software (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Odoo, or similar platforms).
- Strong organizational, negotiation, and communication skills; able to manage competing priorities and tight timelines.
- Proactive in identifying issues and implementing practical solutions.
- Familiarity with Tanzania’s import/export procedures and customs regulations is an advantage.
- Able to work cross-functionally with supply chain, finance, and operations teams.
