Job Description
Organization: Kilombero Sugar Company Limited
Employment Type: Contract
Location: Morogoro, Tanzania
Job Purpose
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining Inventory Master Data on an ongoing basis to support the Purchasing and Inventory function in accordance with the Division Procurement Strategy and deliver quality service to end users.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and contribute to maintaining standardized and structured naming conventions for Master Data in line with industry best practices and market standards.
- Manage the creation of new Material IDs (MIDs) and requests for corrections or enhancements to existing MIDs within agreed service level agreements (SLAs).
- Apply technical understanding of material classifications, grouping, and technical data within the Division Catalogue.
- Manage and correct Master Data-related parameters.
- Enhance Master Data clarity and integrity through effective service delivery and issue resolution.
- Conduct change management activities and provide super user support on new MIDs, Supplier IDs (SIDs), and Master Data Management Systems.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve Master Data maintenance and data cleansing.
- Provide ad hoc training to end users on the Division Catalogue and SAP search functionality.
- Ensure Master Data Management (MDM) processes are established and continuously optimized.
- Identify opportunities for creating new MIDs through reliability improvement initiatives and direct spend analysis.
- Ensure timely capture and uploading of Transport Rate Factors while checking for duplicate or invalid entries.
- Prepare and maintain weekly reports on pending MID applications for the Division Master Data team.
- Recommend changes to SAP Material Requirements Planning (MRP) parameters to improve service delivery.
- Perform ongoing audits and Inventory Master Data reconciliations to ensure data accuracy.
- Maintain the Online Master Data Dashboard.
- Build and maintain relationships with Supply Chain, IT, Reliability, Engineering, and other technical teams.
- Drive system and process improvements within Procurement and Inventory Master Data aligned with reliability initiatives.
- Provide Category Leads with data and input to support procurement strategy changes.
- Promote and comply with Illovo SHERQ procedures, policies, and guidelines.
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant 3-year Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- A Purchasing and Supply background is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in Procurement, Purchasing, or Supply Chain Management.
- Good technical knowledge of purchasing mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical spare parts is an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to work with large volumes of data.
Required Skills
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Working knowledge of inventory technology systems.
- Strong knowledge of engineering equipment and spare parts.
- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
