Temporary Driver at Six Rivers Africa

We are seeking a reliable and responsible driver to ensure safe, timely, and efficient transportation of employees, goods, or documents as required. The driver will play a crucial role in supporting daily operations by providing transportation services while maintaining the vehicle in good working condition and ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations. This role will contribute to the smooth running of daily operational activities by ensuring punctuality, safety, and professionalism on the road

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Transport: Safely drive staff, volunteers, and equipment to project sites, meetings, and other locations as required.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure the vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and properly fuelled. Report in time of any issues or maintenance needs.
• Logistics Support: Assist in the loading and unloading of materials or equipment when necessary.
• Safety and Compliance: Follow all traffic laws and regulations, ensuring the safety of passengers and cargo. Adhere to NGO driving policies.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of trips, fuel consumption, and maintenance.
• Emergency Response: Provide transportation during emergencies or urgent situations as directed by supervisors.
• Communication: Maintain communication with the project team leadership for updates on routes, schedules, and any changes.
• Support Other Duties: Assist with any additional tasks as required, including but not limited to administrative support, driving for events, supporting other SRA branches, or special programs.

Requirements for the Job: 

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong knowledge of local roads and traffic regulations.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Good communication skills in both English & Kiswahili.
• Ability to handle minor vehicle issues or breakdowns when necessary.
• Familiarity with the local area and good navigation skills i.e. Ifakara and its constituencies
